I have a Fatboy and on a couple of occasions recently I was caught in rain ( living in Scotland your guaranteed it ) on both occasions the engine light came on and also while it was wet the speedo stopped working . I took it to the dealer and they said it was due to the Harley design fault gap , I was told about you by a friend , Fantastic gap fix video and other videos . I used your template ( slightly different seat set up on the Fatboy but the template was still suitable ) . Job done just gotta wait for the rain , thank you so much for saving me £100 dealer fix . Keep up the great work please .

I have no issue with the scratching. My issue is with the orange peel from the factory and with the flaking and chipping after only a few months of ownership.

I congratulate you for tackling this important topic. But really, you’ve made a simple thing very complicated, by trying to address all these situations differently! There is just one sure and safe way to manoeuvre a bike from the parked position, either on its side stand or centre stand: 1. Stand on left side of bike. Put side stand down if bike is on centre stand 2. Motor off, engage first gear 3. Grab side of seat/rear grab handle/pannier mounting/whatever with right hand 4. Grab left handlebar with left hand 5. Pull in clutch and either lift bike off side stand, or pull forward off centre stand ,using right hand 6. If bike rolls forwards or backwards, or falls to one side, let out the clutch to stop it, and if necessary pull it down onto the side stand 7. Move the bike by pulling forward or back with the right hand on the grab rail or seat, and use the left hand to steer and the clutch lever as a brake. If you lose control or need a rest, just let out the clutch and drop the bike onto the side stand I’ve used this method for several years now with my Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE Grand Tourer, with absolutely no issues, and always in control.

how is it not worth it? If you price all the bells and whistle accessories on the standard it comes out more expensive than the cvo. The adjustable height, the bags, the extra protection on the radiator, the frame, and skid plate, the extended windshield, etc.....The cvo offers all the customizations out the door for a better deal than you doing it later on the standard model. So I think one needs to look at it from that perspective. I do not own one but actively shopping for one. Looks like an amazing bike to me for the 2024 model.

I’ve had mine for two and a bit years now it’s a do all bike , and just changed the tyres I got 17,000 k/s and only because they had squared off, do yourself a favour and buy the v4s full. You won’t go wrong .

Maybe it’s just bad luck, but most of the bmw riders I’ve met, have this type of “you’re bike is inferior to my bmw” kind of arrogance. Don’t get me wrong, anyone can boast about their bike as much as they want, but these guys just make a habit of overdoing it. The one line that almost got me to vomit was when someone asked a rider; “you ride motorcycles?”, and the guy actually said…🤢; “ no, I ride bmw…”. 🤮 Now I know they’re not all like that , but my experience is that the percentage is quite high.

I am now 72, not super-fit and have two bikes that suit my situation a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 for Asia and a Vespa GTS 125 for Europe. I looked at the 450 Himalayan and found it a bit top heavy, so am staying the Meteor, if they put the 450 in a Meteor maybe. I love biking....always two up. I life weights and use ankle weights to strengthen legs.

Excellent idea. Hate it when I see a video where some cop just grabs the key. Should be illegal. Its worse when some karen does it, cuz then the rider has to jump after them, which means leaving the bike, possibly in the middle of the road, and any belongings on it at risk. Sometimes the bike ends up on it's side, possibly damaged. But the rider has little choice and no time, they have to get their key back. Good to see somebody here has addressed this.

My taste in Harleys has changed dramatically from when I first started riding. I used to think slimmed down Sportsters were the only good looking Harleys and now I am so over my Sportster phase and the Sport Glide is exactly everything I'm looking for in styling, convenience and comfort. I love the chrome offset on the black and that fairing is sexy and unique! I would just add a higher windscreen to get some more wind protection for longer rides. That air filter cover is the best looking I've ever seen on a stock Harley and I think I may just machine out some cuts on the sides for more air if I take it up to stage 1. I absolutely refuse to black out the bike and change the appearance of it besides maybe changing to fused lo mini apes in chrome. I'll add heated grips and a chrome flat out bar. That stock seat is one of the best seats I've seen come from a stock Harley. It's beautiful and very comfortable when I sat on it and I wouldn't change it. I don't hate that it has a 107, I actually love the 107. I think if I need more I'll just stage 1 it and that's it. I want smoother as I age and honestly the Sport Glide does everything I'm looking for. I'm hunting for a 2021 with under 1k miles.

Thats 16 years from now. 16 years ago we had no proper electric cars at all. Iphone had just been launched. What if someone in 2008 said that in 16 years everyone will have a smartphone and electric cars will have almost 100% of the market in Norway, and china will have really nice electric cars.. Dont say Honda will be gone it they do this. Wait and see what the future serves us.

The preload likely had to be adjusted and this makes a significant difference in the suspension feel

Just FYII. I flushed my lines, then activated the ABS, but skipped the reflush. Two years later (10,000 miles), my fluid tested with no significant moisture. I flushed it again anyway to keep on a two year cycle.

Been lost down the rabbit hole and found this video. I have a horrible ride on my 20 Deluxe. Bike feels completely off balance and riding like 💩! I put every bit of weight into the rear of the bike and it’s not moving at all. I even sat on the back with some up and down motion and not a give to the swingarm. Bike has 15000km and luckily I still have a warranty until 2026. Going to have harley pick it up and sort this out. Also going to tell them I want the bearings replaced not just the nut loosened and retorqued. Appreciate your knowledge and breakdown. The world needs more honest and knowledgeable gents like yourself Brother. Newfoundland, Canada.

After peddling everything as a kid. A motorized bike gave me wings. No one tells me how to get from point A to B. Freedom. Bike clubs are for those social types who need that. I never did.

I have some bike builders i love and one i love but also really want their bike! That "one" is Russell Mitchell! The other's, like Indian Larry, Billy Lane are artists with another Jesse James being a more refined builder like Russell. All excellent but mechanically and aesthetically, Exile is to me the perfect bike. A mechanical chunk of engineering excellence!
